Christopher Lasch was a famous American historian and social critic. Lasch worked as a professor at the University of Rochester. He always sought to use history as a tool to awaken modern-day society to the reality that major institutions were eroding the core values of independence of American families and communities.
In his last major works he explored this theme in depth and he insisted that Americans had much to learn from the suppressed political movements of the past two centuries.
