Harvey Weinstein is a well-known American film producer and studio executive. He is one of the co-founders of Mira max Films and has won an Academy Award and several Tony Awards for his work. Weinstein grew up with a passion for films and during the 1970s began producing rock concerts along with his brother and Corky Burger.

They used their earnings to start an independent film distribution company called Mira max which became one of the most successful independent media companies in history with hits such as Sex, Lies and Video Tape, Pulp Fiction,Shakespeare in Love and Lord of the Rings. In 2005, the Weinstein brothers left Mira max and began their own production company called The Weinstein Company.
