Ang Lee was born in Taiwan. He is an American film director, screenwriter and producer.
Lee is famous for exploring complex themes in his films. He also deals with the complexities of human emotion in many of his films. He has done so in a way that demonstrates his remarkable insight into the human heart.
Lee has won the Academy Award for Best Director not once, but twice; first for “Brokeback Mountain” and then for “Life of Pi”. Ang Lee is the first director of Asian origins to win an Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA for Best Director.
