Henry Louis Mencken also known as H. L. Mencken, was an American writer, editor, critic, journalist, satirist and is also considered the leading authority on American English of his era.
He is widely known for his criticism. In fact in the 20’s he was one of the most dominant literary critics in the United States. He mainly raised his voice against what he perceived as cultural and social flaws in the country, but he also criticized fraudulently successful writers, musicians, politicians, literature etc.
H.L Mencken worked as an editor and writer for various magazines. He wrote many books on philosophy, literature and music. He wrote many articles as a ghostwriter as well.
