Christopher Hitchens was born in Portsmouth England. He wrote for a variety of British magazines. Afterwards, he moved to the US in 1981. Hitchens authored twelve books and five collections of essays.
His work concentrates on a variety of topics, including politics, literature and religion. He established himself as one of the leading contemporary writers. He even went so far as to offend his readership with his controversial positions on religion.
According to him, the very concept of a Supreme Being or God is a nothing but a totalitarian belief that leads to the destruction of individual freedom.
