"William James was an American psychologist, philosopher and physicist. He is often referred to as the ‘Father of American Psychology’ and is considered one of the leading intellectuals of the 19th century.
James spent his entire career at Harvard University where he taught subjects including psychology, philosophy and anatomy. He was the first professor to teach a course in psychology. He was one of the founders of
functional psychology and is also praised for his contributions to the philosophical school of ‘pragmatism’.
James wrote extensively and gained widespread recognition for his great work, ‘Principles of Psychology’."
