Ron Fournier was born in 1963. He is an American national political journalist, who currently works at the National Journal. He had previously served as Washington bureau chief at the Associated Press until leaving in June 2010. He began his journalism career in 1985 at The Sentinel-Record in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
In May 2008, Fournier was named the acting Washington bureau chief, replacing Sandy Johnson. He has won the Society of Professional Journalists’ Sigma Delta Chi Award for coverage of the US presidential elections in 2000. Fornier is also a three-time winner of the White House Correspondents’ Association Merriman Smith award.
