Liam Neeson, OBE (born 7 June 1952) is an Irish actor best known for his roles in Schindler’s List, Michael Collins, Taken, Darkman, The Grey, and The Chronicles of Narnia series. He has been nominated for an Oscar, a BAFTA and three Golden Globe Awards.
He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in her 1999 New Year Honours. The American Ireland Fund honoured Neeson with their Performing Arts Award for the great distinction he has brought to Ireland at their 2008 Dinner Gala in New York. In 2009, at a ceremony in New York, Neeson was awarded an honorary doctorate by Queen’s University, Belfast.
