Jonathan Henry Sacks, whose Hebrew name is Yaakov Zvi, was the Chief Rabbi and the spiritual head of the United Synagogue that consists of more than 60 Orthodox Jewish communities and is considered the largest Jewish grouping in Britain as well as Europe.
He has received much recognition for his work and represented the Jewish community in Prince William’s wedding. Even though he earned his PhD at King’s College, he has been awarded several honorary doctorates from prestigious universities such as Glasgow, Liverpool and Cambridge. In 2005, he was knighted by The Queen.
Rabbi Sacks has authored many books related to Judaism. He frequently contributes to TV and radio programs.
