Elizabeth Edwards was an American lawyer, a best-selling author and a renowned health care activist. She was married to John Edwards, who is the former US of North Carolina.
Until her husband’s rise as senator, she lived a private life. Edwards was the chief policy advisor during her husband’s presidential bid. She is known to have been pushing him towards more liberal stances on topics such as universal health care.
In addition to that, she was an advocate of gay marriage and she spoke out openly against the war in Iraq. Edwards suffered from breast cancer.
