Camille Paglia was born in Endicott New York. She is a social critic, author and active feminist. She currently works as a professor of humanities and media studies at the Philadelphia University of the Arts.
She is regarded as an intellectual of many apparent contradictions. Some see her as a classicist who champions art both high and low, while others consider her a thinker who celebrates the wilder, darker sides of human sexuality.
Paglia came to international attention when she published her first book. Her work is entitled “Sexual Personae” and was first published back in 1990.
